What do the colored lights mean?

The colored lights under the logo on your tCheck device indicate status.  Here is a list of the colors and their meanings.

Green-green-green:  The device is performing Power-On Self Test (POST).  Normally, POST takes about 20-30 seconds.

Blue-blue-green:  The device is ready to accept a BLE (Bluetooth low-energy) connection with the app.

Blue-blue-blue:  The device is ready for the next user interaction.  It could be any of 3 conditions:

  • The device is connected to the app and ready to run a test
  • The device is ready for the next step in the testing process
  • The device has completed a test and is ready for the next test

Blue-blue-purple:  The device is running a test.  The purple dot will cycle during each internal point in the testing process.  Each process step may take 10-15 seconds.

Purple-purple-purple:  The device is ready to perform a firmware update.

Yellow-yellow-yellow:  Batteries are low.  The device can still run tests, however, you should replace the batteries soon.

Red-red-white:  The device encountered an error.  This could be for several reasons:

  • Batteries are too low and the device cannot perform a measurement or complete POST (most common reason)
  • Device failed POST - please see this article.
