- Coconut Oil
- Pot (the steel variety)
- Flower / Botanicals
- Baking sheet
- Tin foil
Part One: Activate the Compounds
- Preheat oven to 240 degrees fahrenheit
- Grind your herb.
- Evenly spread your ground herb on baking sheet then cover it with tinfoil.
- Place the sheet pan in the oven and let it bake for 45 minutes.
Part Two: Infusion (mixes the activated botanical compounds into the oil)
Place 2 cups of water in the steel pot and heat (we will filter the water out later)
After the water seems at constant temperature, place the coconut oil and wait until it melts.
Place the activated compounds into the pot and stir.
Check back every 10 minutes to stir and after about 2 hours take the pot off of the heat.
Part Three: Separation (of the dry herbal material from the mixture)
take the cheesecloth and strainer and place them on top of each other over the bowl, then pour out the liquid contained in the pot into a bowl.
After everything is poured out then make sure you have all of the liquid that you can and squeeze the cheesecloth until you are sure.
Part Four: Filter (the water to separate out the oils)
Place the bowl in the fridge for 4 hours or more and find that the infused oil has separated from the water.
With a knife, poke a small hole in the solid herbal oil and pour the water down the drain.
